burp suite pro only runs as admin

Hi folks. I'm having an issue running Burp Suite pro on a windows 10 machine. It only seems to run as admin. When I run it as a user, the splash screen opens and closes straight away. It works on other windows 10 machines so not sure what the difference is with this one.

Hi Steven, where is Burp Suite installed in your machine? It could be that your user account does not have the right permissions to access it.

Hi Steven, What user was used to install Burp on this machine? Have you checked the permissions on the BurpSuitePro.exe file, located in the ?C:\Program Files\BurpSuiteProto directory, in order to confirm that the Read & Execute permissions have been set for your user?

Hi Steven, I am having trouble replicating this issue. Are you launching Burp via the created shortcut or navigating to the C:\Program Files\BurpSuitePro directory and double clicking the BurpSuitePro.exe file? I have created a Windows 10 virtual machine and installed Burp with the administrator user. Creating a second standard user still allows me to launch the installed version of Burp without any issues. Can you try something? If you open up a Windows Command Prompt as your normal user and navigate to C:\Program Files\BurpSuitePro. Can you then enter the following command and see if Burp launches successfully: "C:\Program Files\BurpSuitePro\jre\bin\java.exe" -jar burpsuite_pro.jar
