connection failed issue when scanning
Why burp shows connection failed in event log window while performing new automated scan though the application is reachable with browser or ping utility ?
Does the connection failed event happen immediately or at some point after the scan has started? Are you using a LAN proxy to access the internet?
When i start automated scan , it will run the scan fine but in the event box shows that the connection is failed . i am not using any LAN proxy. though the application server reachable from ping utility and application is browse from any browser.
Are there any other error messages displayed in the Event log (make sure to switch on all the filters; Critical, Error, Info and Debug) when this happens?
yes some times it shows application authentication error message.
Are you able to send us an email with a screenshot of the errors that you are receiving (if you can send this to email@example.com) we will then have a better idea of what is happening during your scan?

If Burp cannot authenticate against the site then it is likely to have connection issues but we can confirm what is happening when we receive the details in your email.
