Duplicate entries in scan queue

Why does Burp make duplicate entries with a status of "waiting" in the scan queue. It seems trivial to scan the list in code prior to the addition of a new URL and to not add it if there is already one there. I am requesting this change. Thanks!

Burp only adds items to the scan queue if you have told it to do so, either through sending items for active scanning from other tools, or through the API, or some other action/configuration. Users often want to scan the same or very similar items more than once so Burp doesn't prevent this. Two caveats: - If you select multiple items for scanning at once, the active scan wizard will provide you with options for removing duplicated items or items with other features (like no parameters). - If you use live active scanning, Burp will not send identical requests for scanning more than once.
