Copy/Paste/Cut shortcuts (CTRL+C/V/X) are not working on Windows 10

Stribog | Last updated: Sep 24, 2015 09:34AM UTC

I upgraded to windows 10, installed the latest Oracle JRE 1.8.0_60-b27 and now the shortcut copy & paste functionality is not working anymore. I'm working with burpsuite 1.6.27 pro. The functionality worked on Windows 7 SP1 before upgrade. Any suggestions? Is it MS feature (=BUG) or an Oracle feature (=BUG)? Or this is just a great cooperation between them? Or burp uses a JRE key capture method that is blocked by Windows 10 and should be enabled by some switch or registry change?? Thank you in advance.

Thanks for this report. We're going to investigate and try to reproduce this problem and will let you know if we need any more information.

Thanks for the follow-up. We're struggling to reproduce this issue. We upgraded a base Windows 7 install to Windows 10, and then installed the latest Oracle JRE 8, and Burp works as expected. Please can you check the following: 1. Do other Burp hotkeys work? E.g. ctrl+shift+I switches to Intruder, ctrl+shift+R switches to Repeater. 2. If you restore defaults for all options, via the Burp menu, does this help?

Thank you for the advice. The burp hot-keys were not working, then I reset to all defaults and now all shortcuts are working well. But I still wondering what happened with configuration during the upgrade.

Hi Omar, could you let us know what version of Burp you are using, please? Do any of the other shortcuts work for you or is it just copy/paste/cut shortcuts (CTRL+C/V/X) that are causing you problems?

This issue since 2015, and still I cannot find the solution. How come?

Hi guys Recently i switched to Linux (Arch) from Mac, and shortcuts aren't working here, like none of them. Any ideas how to fix it? I'm using Pro version.

Hi Andrey, What version of Arch Linux are you using? In addition, are you using a particular desktop GUI?

Hi Andrey, Just to follow up on my previous message. I have installed Arch Linux (version 2019.5) with the KDE desktop environment and am not seeing any issue using any of the shortcuts or hotkeys with Burp Professional so this may well be a peculiarity with the configuration that you are running with. Please let us know if you require any further information.

Hi I wish all of you are fine, I'm using the latest version of burp, in Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS the shortcuts not working, I also tried other older releases and I did reset all defaults but the same problem.

Hi Khiro, Just to clarify, you are saying that all versions of Burp that you have tested on your Ubuntu machine have issues with the shortcuts? Can you confirm which shortcuts you are trying to use so that we can take a look at this for you?
