App ignoring system proxy settings?

Phil | Last updated: Oct 20, 2015 07:25PM UTC

I've looked at the first 5 pages of this Support Center and the closest I see to my problem is here (http://forum.portswigger.net/thread/1557/burp-displaying-webgoat). If this has been answered, or this is the wrong area to post, I apologize. But I'm beating my head to the desk trying to figure this out. I'm trying to scan a Java-based web app. The proxy is working. I know this because if I browse to any other site, things work as expected. With this target site, however, the data doesn't seem to proxy through burp. I point the browser to the target and surf just fine but NOTHING shows up in burp for this application. I'm speculating that maybe it's just an old app and something has it configured to ignore system proxies, if that's a thing?? I have no clue.. I've researched to the best of my ability for a day and a half now, so here I am to throw myself upon the mercy of the community. Any help or insight would be appreciated.

Hi Phil Thanks for your message. The first two things we would recommend checking are: 1. That the browser is set to proxy both HTTP and HTTPs traffic. 2. That there are no exceptions in the browser proxy config for 127.0.0.1 /localhost etc. Please let us know if you need any further assistance.
