How to connect from a remote device to Burp?

javi | Last updated: Nov 09, 2015 02:26PM UTC

Hi I am trying to do MiTM from my mobile phone. I have set up as proxy the computer where Burp is running, but it is not receiving any traffic With any other proxy, as fiddler or Zap, i can see the traffic Do i need to do anything special to accept traffic incoming from an external device? Thanks

Hi Javi Thanks for your message. What type of mobile device are you using? Have you checked out our tutorials for configuring mobile devices to work with Burp Suite? - https://support.portswigger.net/customer/en/portal/topics/754329-mobile-devices/articles

Hi XC Thanks for your message. If I'm understanding you correctly, I think you might need to ensure Burp Proxy is listening on all interfaces (or the specific IP address of the machine on which Burp is running). If you have a look at the following documentation page, there is a section on configuring the Burp Proxy listener (you can ignore that it is about iOS devices, the section I'm referring to is actually the same process for all devices): - https://support.portswigger.net/customer/portal/articles/1841108-configuring-an-ios-device-to-work-with-burp Please let us know if you need any further assistance.

Hi Support i set up the burp suite on windows host. i may browse localhost:8080 in local browser and also i may browse 50.46.239.217:8080 as well if i bound address to the specific ip 50.46.239.217 in local browser. BUT as i am using another machine on the same network, trying to browse 50.46.239.217:8080 which never showing anything up. i have checked my local port 8080 which is allowing inbound and outbound traffics. Any clue further? Thanks XC
