EG | Last updated: Dec 07, 2015 09:33AM UTC

Hi, I'm trying to install my certificates as per tutorial, but I'm having a problem to get in the http://burp URL. I'm getting the ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED, can anyone help me? Is there any other workaround for installing this certificate? Thanks in advance

Hi EG Thanks for your message. Have you configured your browser to work with Burp Suite? – https://support.portswigger.net/customer/en/portal/articles/1783055-configuring-your-browser-to-work-with-burp. Hi Mohammed, You must configure your browser to use Burp as a proxy. There are instructions here: - https://support.portswigger.net/customer/en/portal/articles/1783055-configuring-your-browser-to-work-with-burp Please let us know if you need any further assistance.

Burp User | Last updated: Jul 15, 2017 09:10PM UTC

Dears i saw all above solution and i applied all solution on my browser but still when i enter link http://burp its been redirected to http://www.inert.com/

PortSwigger Agent | Last updated: Jul 17, 2017 07:14AM UTC

It sounds like your browser is converting http://burp to http://burp.com. What browser are you using? A quick fix is to use a different one.

Liam, PortSwigger Agent | Last updated: Jul 17, 2017 07:15AM UTC

Thanks for your input, we'll take this under consideration.

Burp User | Last updated: Sep 27, 2017 06:40PM UTC

The above instructions are confusing. here are the clear steps. Step1: First configure your Browser to access Burp's Proxy Step2: Now, you run http://burp You should see Certificate button on the right hand side of browser. Note: http://burp will NOt work without Step 1

Hi Vasik Thanks for your message. Which version of iOS are you using? What kind of file are you receiving? Would it be possible to send us the file? Could you provide a screenshot?

Hello! I'm trying to install burp CA certificate on my iphone, but face with a trouble. The first step i've done is https://support.portswigger.net/customer/portal/articles/1841108--Mobile%20Set-up_iOS%20Device.html Then I go to http://burp as in instruction https://support.portswigger.net/customer/portal/articles/1841109-installing-burp-s-ca-certificate-in-an-ios-device and everything seems ok But when I click on a link «CA Certificate» it downloads like a file and there is no pop-up menu that offers me to install it What should I do? Thanks

What kris said above (step1 + 2) worked for me. Guys - the info (for mac users) in your site is just incorrect! I have gone through the ca certificate instructions, said to open http://portswigger.net in safari, while burp is on, but safari just block it totally. there is NO option to approve the certificate. it took me hours to found that solution above.

Prerna, what error are you getting?

Burp User | Last updated: Jul 23, 2018 06:52PM UTC

I think the issue may be that Chrome adds .com to http://burp automatically while firefox does not? -Chrome Portable --> http://burp redirects to burp.com ,etc -Firefox --> http://burp works properly. both properly set with proxy

Burp User | Last updated: Sep 12, 2018 08:58AM UTC

I am facing the same issue. I have mac machine and have VM's as well which has Chrome, Firefox and Safari. I tried with Chrome & Firefox, but even after setting the browser proxy, I am not able to access the http://burp url and getting error.

Burp User | Last updated: Nov 11, 2018 08:50PM UTC

Got that same issue. Configured Browser, went to http://burp and firefox redirected me always to http://burp.com. going to 127.0.0.1:8080 solved it

ZeroCool, open Firefox, type about:config in the address bar and hit Enter. Search for browser.fixup.alternate.suffix. You can modify the .com default setting.

Burp User | Last updated: Aug 22, 2019 05:24PM UTC

Man, these support agents do not even appear to be trying to help. This seems to be a common issue, firefox is adding the .com as well

Ayesha, which version of Android are you using?

Ben, PortSwigger Agent | Last updated: Nov 22, 2019 02:55PM UTC

Hi David, You need to have configured and started the Burp Proxy Listener as well as configured the proxy settings in your browser before you can obtain the CA Certificate from http://burp. Have you gone through the following guides which provide detailed steps to carry this out? https://support.portswigger.net/customer/en/portal/articles/1783055-configuring-your-browser-to-work-with-burp https://support.portswigger.net/customer/en/portal/articles/1783075-installing-burp-s-ca-certificate-in-your-browser. Please let us know if you require any further assistance.

Burp User | Last updated: Dec 12, 2019 01:27AM UTC

http://burp is currently redirecting to inert.com, which says that the domain is for sale and 'AVAILABLE'. I am still looking for a way to get the CA on my Kali VM. Thanks.
