Which tutorial to read?

Hello | Last updated: Jan 21, 2016 03:05AM UTC

Good afternoon, I see two tutorials. One at https://portswigger.net/burp/help/contents.html (documentation) and the other at https://support.portswigger.net/#SC_IndexPageTopics (supportcenter) Why are there two tutorials? Assuming that I only have the time to go through one of them, should I read then first tutorial or the second one? Best regards

Hi Thanks for your message. The documentation pages and the support centre are designed to supplement each other. The documentation pages provide more detailed information, while the support centre provides tutorials with screenshots (perhaps more suited to new users). We would recomend reading both. However, if you are new to Burp Suite then the tutorials in the support centre may be easier to work through initially. Please let us know if you need any further assistance.

There's only limited time I could put into this and I can't be reading both of them (at least not right now or anytime soon). Since both tutorials intersect, I'd like to ask which tutorial is the one with a greater amount of "area" not covered by the other tutorial?

While they do intersect and supplement each other, they also provide different elements. For example, the documentation gives a more detailed overview of using Burp Suites tools while the support tutorials provide more information on detecting vulnerabilities.
