burp temporary files

hong | Last updated: Feb 03, 2016 03:18PM UTC

Hi, Two questions: (1) When I start the burp, I can see Burp asks me if I would like to delete the temporary files. Is there a way to delete these temporary files programatically? (2) On linux, Burp saves the temporary files under /tmp. My /tmp directory size is very limited. I added a command line option -Djava.io.tmpdir=/root/burpTmpDir, however seems Burp still saves temporary files under /tmp. Is there a way to tell Burp where to save these temporary files? Please help!

Thanks for your queries. 1. Ordinarily, this prompt should only appear if you have (a) terminated a Burp instance abnormally; or (b) launched more than once Burp instance concurrently. If you don't do this, then Burp should automatically clean up any redundant temp files during shutdown of one instance or the startup of the next one. 2. You can configure this within Burp at Options / Misc / Temporary files location.

I am still unable to find out the field "Temporary files location". It is not under Proxy / Options / Misc. I am probably searching it out in wrong page. Could you please help.

My Mistake. It is under User Options / Misc / Temporary Files Location.
