Can't import Burp Project options after save

Art | Last updated: Aug 23, 2016 11:37AM UTC

Hello, I try to import project options in "wizard" when burp is starting, but I can't. I always get message "Not a valid Burp file". But when I open Burp and click on menu and import again file - then this file is working perfectly. Also I can't use my project file by --project-file option. So only after I run burp in Tempolary Project, I can import Project Configuration by option in menu. Regards and thanks for reply

Hi Art Thanks for your message. When you load your configuration file are you loading it in the "Load from configuration file" console? Is the configuration file a .json file?

Yes, I exported this file from Burp (.json) by Burp->Project Options->Save project options. So, I can import this file by: Burp->Project Options->Load project options and can't import it by: - “Load from configuration file” - --project-file option

Hi Art It could be that you are confusing project files with config files. Have you checked out our documentation on "Working with Burp Projects"? - https://portswigger.net/burp/help/suite_burp_projects.html

Yes, of course. Quick question: Can I import JSON file exported from "Burp->Project Options->Save project options" with option --project-file=exportedburpproject.here ? P.S. Not only me have this problem, a lot of my friends have similar problems.

Hi Art It sounds like you are trying to load a configuration file (project options) using the project file command. To load a configuration file try using --config-file.

Hi, Thanks. Hmm... so how I can import "on start" project options and user options ? So I need to use two "—config-file" ?

Hi Art Yes, this option may be repeated to load multiple files.
