'--project-file' Pauses Scanner

Kevin | Last updated: Nov 09, 2017 09:13AM UTC

I made a post a week ago (here: https://support.portswigger.net/customer/portal/questions/17180858-save-project-file-with-burp-api) about automatically saving the project file. I was told about the --project-file parameter, which I have tried to use but looks like it has a bug. When you start BURP with --project-file, it correctly creates the project file in the right location, but it seems to globally pause the scanner tool. It seems like this would happen if you opened an existing file - but I didn't expect it to happen when it creates a new one. Is there a way to get around this? Or is it just a bug?

Hi Kevin, Thanks for your message. When opening existing project, the global pause is a deliberate safety mechanism. I guess it's not necessary for new projects, but I think the consistency of always pausing is helpful. To avoid the pause, use --unpause-spider-and-scanner Please let us know if you need any further assistance.
