Saving options

I created a temporary project, saved my configured options as a User Options, then I load the JSON and they're not in there. I have to turn off Burp Collaborator, have to change my Target view settings, have to reconfigure Proxy History so it works. Why can't Burp save its settings? This has never worked since v1.7 came out. Burp used to just work. Now it's a great way to trigger one's OCDs.

Hi Barp, Thanks for your message. Burp 1.7 split the options into user and project options, with some overlap. This has created some confusion. Collaborator options come under project options. Most of the tool options (Proxy, Spider, Scanner, etc.) come under project options - although Extender comes under user options. If you use a project file, when you shutdown Burp cleanly, project options are stored with the project file, and at start up you can choose "Use options saved with project". If you use a temporary project, you can manually save options - Burp menu > Project options > Save project options. I hope this explains things a little more.
