1.7.28 Freezing When Installing Plugins

Chris | Last updated: Nov 16, 2017 09:30PM UTC

Hi there, I'm running Kali (latest version/updates installed) and under 1.7.27, plugins will install without issue. However, under 1.7.28, installing plugins will cause Burp to hang. Typically this happens when installing 2-3 plugins...the first plugin may install without issue (e.g., from a clean install -- sorting plugins by popularity -- retire.js installs, but activescan++ causes Burp to hang). I've tried deleting the bapps directory and resetting to default user settings; no effect. Rolling back to 1.7.27 has been the short-term fix.

Hi Chris, Apologies for this issue. We're going to try to fix it promptly. This is a deadlock that occurs on BApps with long descriptions, where you have to scroll to access the install button. At the end of the install, there is a deadlock in the display refresh code. As you say, a workaround is to use 1.7.27 to install extensions.
