UPDATEING BURP ON MAC OSX

cephasiii | Last updated: Feb 03, 2018 07:13AM UTC

Burp is throwing an error when I try to update to the latest version. I am running burp suite on Mac OSX High Sierra. When upgrading I receive this error message: "/Applications/Burp Suite Community Edition.app/Contents/Plugins/jre.bundle/Contents/Home/jre/LICENSE Could not create this file. Shall I try again?" Any help would be appreciated.

Are you downloading Burp Community Edition from our website? - https://portswigger.net/burp

I'm having the same issue, trying to update Burp Suite Community Edition v1.7.35 to Burp Suite Community Edition v1.7.36 downloaded from -https://portswigger.net/burp on macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 (17G65). Any update about this issue?

LC, these seem to be isolated incidents. We haven't had any feedback to investigate. What happens when you update Burp from inside the console? (Help > Check for updates).

Thanks for your support, following your instruction clicking "Update now" just brings me to https://portswigger.net/burp/communitydownload page. Should I try a clean installation? thanks

Yes, try a clean install. Additionally, do you have a corporate proxy or firewall configured that might be blocking updates?

Yes there is a corporate proxy, it might be that. Clean installation worked, thanks
