Trouble with configuring Burp with Firefox

Ron | Last updated: Feb 28, 2018 02:38PM UTC

Hi Team/Friends, I am having a bit of trouble setting up Burp with Firefox. I change the network setting of Firefox to 127.0.0.1:8080 and in burp the settings are normal. If I turn the intercept on, burp start to intercept the get method for /sync of Firefox on http://127.0.0.1:9614. I wanted to prevent that as I waste a lot of time to forward these request and get to the actual intercept. The same setting is working for Chrome browser. Kindly assist to fix this issue for Firefox as well. Thanks and Regards Ron

You can use the Target Scope to tell the Proxy to intercept only in-scope requests and responses: - https://portswigger.net/burp/help/target_scope You can exclude items from scope at Target > Scope > Exclude from scope settings. Please let us know if you need any further assistance.

Just disabled your XDM extension when you were using burp.

Input command lsof -i:9614 and u will find there is sth wrong about XDM. So disable XDM extension in firefox or remove it.
