Error: Critical Source:Suite Message:Environment Not Supported by embedded browser

Hello, I am incurring an issue with the v2.0.04 beta .jar version in Kali (latest, 2018.3). The error incurred is "Message:Environment Not Supported by embedded browser". I have done little to this Kali build other than apt-get update / apt-get upgrade, ensuring that the java version is not in 10.x, but rather in 8.x. I am not sure where to progress from here. Pages do not render in the Response/Render tab and various internal menus cannot be seen due to the same bug/issue.

Hi there, I have a very similar problem. Here's the error I get: Error Type: Critical Source: Suite Message: Could not start embedded browser my env burp versions: from 2.0_01beta to 2.0_05beta kali version "2018.3" java version "1.8.0_181" tried also to disable all the extensions to have a clean burp suite install and also tried to run burp with both the .jar or the BurpSuitePro script but still getting the same error Please help Marco.

Michael, Marco, thanks for these reports. Do you have performance feedback enabled (User options > Misc > Performance feedback)? If so, could you provide us with your diagnostics (Help > Diagnostics)?

HI Michael, Thanks for the debug information. Please try running Burp using Oracle Java, instead of OpenJDK. One way to do this is to install the Burp Platform Installer, instead of using the standalone jar. If you're still having difficulty, can you please run these commands in a terminal: cd /tmp/browsercore-64.0.3282.24 LD_LIBRARY_PATH=. ./browsercore64 And please send us a screenshot of the output. Please let us know if you need any further assistance.

Hi there, Your reply pointed me to the right direction. installed the following packages: I gconf-service{a} gconf2-common{a} libgconf-2-4 now everything seems to work fine. Hope this helps other testers having the same issue. Many thanks. Marco.
