Per-Extension IRequestResponse Comment

Corey Arthur Nov 02, 2018 09:50AM UTC

Adding a comment to a IRequestResponse object can be useful for a number of things. However, not all extensions consider that this is a shared field and may overwrite values set by other extensions.

A solution to this may be to store comments per-extension.

This is an interesting idea. At present, the extension API lets you set the comment that’s visible in the UI, and some extensions rely on this behavior, e.g. Commentator.

We do have a story on the development plan to allow extensions to store custom data on an issue or request. It may be a little while until we get to this.
