Failing Verify DNS Interaction

Ryan | Last updated: Dec 19, 2018 04:13PM UTC

Hello, I have been attempting to set up a collaborator server in AWS. I have it set up for burp.example.com. The only way I can pass all of the health checks except: Verify DNS interaction Warning Verify HTTP interaction Warning Verify HTTPS interaction Warning Verify SMTP interaction Warning Verify SMTPS interaction Warning is if I do a *.burp.example.com A record pointing to my elastic IP. Without that I fail almost everything. I know its a DNS issue but I am unsure where to make my changes, the burp collab config file? Our registrar?

Instead of using an A record, you need to use an NS record so the burp.example.com domain is delegated to the Collaborator server. There's some information here: - https://portswigger.net/burp/documentation/collaborator/deploying#dns-configuration
