Burp Suite Chrome Cert Error: Error net::ERR_CERT_REVOKED

Timmins, | Last updated: Mar 25, 2019 11:46PM UTC

Hi, I'm running: Linux Mint 19.1 Chrome Version 73.0.3683.86 Burp Suite Pro v2.0.18 Beta And I'm getting a bunch of net::ERR_CERT_REVOKED when I use the Burp Suite proxy in Chrome. Cert is working perfectly in Firefox. Also attempted using the non-beta version of Burp Pro and got the same results. Followed the documentation to the letter and generated a new cert. All to no avail. Any ideas what I can do?

We haven't been able to reproduce the issue. We're going to install Linux Mint and do some more testing.

Hi, We've had a look at this and we are also getting certificate errors in Chrome on Linux Mint. Would it be possible for you to send us a screenshot of the error you are seeing? Thanks.

Hi, On further investigation, we've managed to use Burp Pro successfully without certificate errors. Apologies for the user error on our part. We would still like to receive a screenshot of this error from you, if possible. In addition, we have a couple of suggestions for you. 1.) Try clearing your browser cache and trying again. 2.) See whether there is any other information in the security tab of Chrome's developer tools: https://developers.google.com/web/tools/chrome-devtools/security/ If this does not elucidate the problem for you, you could send us some screenshots of this information. Thank you for your patience.

Hi, Sorry about the delay. So most sites seem to work, but https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com returns the 'Error net::ERR_CERT_REVOKED' constantly. But weirdly enough still load the content into Burp Suite successfully. It's very strange. Doesn't seem to be consistent either. Still using the latest Burp Pro beta and running the latest Chrome on Linus Mint. Screenshots: https://imgur.com/a/7CpeUX0 Cheers,

Hi Adam, We apologize for the delay in responding to your query, we have had a backlog of support tickets to process so we have only just got round to responding to your ticket. Can you confirm that you are still experiencing this issue in version 2.1.04 of Burp Suite with Linux Mint?

Hi, I have the same problem now with Burp Professional 2020.2 on my Chrome in mac. Any advise on how to resolve the issue and how can I download the previous versions of Burp pro? Thanks, Omar

Hi Omar, Have you tried generating a new cert and updating it in Keychain? You can access all the versions of Burp Suite here: https://portswigger.net/burp/releases.

Hi Uthman, Thanks, I tried this but it didn't help.
