Sort entries in the site map by domain components before hostname

Rogan | Last updated: May 21, 2019 01:59PM UTC

While HTTP and HTTPS servers on the same hostname are sorted together (indicating a degree of custom sorting already), it would really make sense to sort all of the servers in a particular domain together as well. Currently, entries are sorted similar to: www.host1.com www.net2.com www1.host1.com while it would really make more sense to *sort* them in "reverse domain order" i.e. com.host1.www com.host1.www1 com.net2.www even though the hostnames are actually displayed as expected.

Obviously, IP addresses should not be sorted in this way!

Thanks for your message. We've logged this request in our development backlog. We can't give you an ETA on this but we'll update you when it is available.

More than just sorting by domain, having a tree layout where each root node is a domain and all leaves are the subdomains. Example: google.com www.google.com mail.google.com portswigger.net forum.portswigger.net

Thanks for the ideas :) We'll be monitoring this to see if other users would find this useful.

Hello, I would also like this feature. It's really annoying when auditing a target that interacts with many different other domains, that I can't have all the relevant subdomains from the same domain next to each other. For instance: login.target.com play.googleapis.com static.target.com storage.googleapis.com www.target.com It makes no sense that it would be ordered like this... instead, it should be: play.googleapis.com storage.googleapis.com login.target.com static.target.com www.target.com We should at least have the option to chose this in the settings.

Thanks for the feedback. We've added this to the details we're gathering around this.

Hi Our developers have been looking into this, and we have some plans in the pipeline around the ordering of domains in the Site Map tree. Keep an eye out for our Early Adopter releases :)
